LGT Venture Philanthropy supports organizations that wish to develop long-term solutions aimed at improving the quality of life of disadvantaged people. We strive to support organizations that are active in the following regions:

  • Latin America
  • Africa
  • India
  • China
  • South East Asia

As our portfolio of activities develops we intend to create regional clusters and expertise.

Additional Selection Criteria

In addition to the activity in one of the three overarching themes and geographic focus areas, organizations seeking LGT support should meet the following additional criteria:

They should

  • have a dedicated and professional management with relevant experience
  • offer an effective solution
  • have a proven track record and strong financial discipline
  • show a clear sense of mission and values in line with those of LGT Venture Philanthropy
  • be able to measure positive results
  • have knowledge of, and respect for the community served
  • not adversely affect the environment

We do not support sponsoring of individuals, events and conferences; political or religious activities/involvement and lobbying; pre-seed and seed financing; deficit reduction; emergency or disaster relief; land acquisition, construction or major renovation of facilities.
