Thanks to LGT’s outstanding ratings, Global Finance magazine has included the bank in its list of the world’s 50 safest banks.
This year, LGT qualified for the US magazine Global Finance’s list of the world’s 50 safest banks. As a result of its outstanding ratings, it ranked 44th, and is therefore one of four Swiss and Liechtenstein banks represented in the list.
The top 10 of the world’s safest banks was dominated by European banks this year. For the sixth consecutive time, the German bank KfW took the top spot, followed by Zürcher Kantonalbank and the German bank Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank.
Every year, Global Finance assesses the safety of the world’s 500 biggest banks. The ranking is based on an evaluation of the long-term credit ratings of global rating agencies Moody's, Standard & Poor's and Fitch, and the amount of assets under management.
