As expected, the US Federal Reserve (Fed) left its key interest rates unchanged, but held out the prospect of a next interest rate hike in June. Fed Chairman Jerome Powell is thus sticking to his course of gradually raising interest rates. Meanwhile, the Fed assumes that inflation will level off in the medium term at about the level now reached. At the same time, the Fed's economic outlook remains moderately optimistic.
