Face-off for Champions Hockey League’s new Season

August 31, 2022

After a summer with record temperatures, things are heating up on the ice. Champions Hockey League kicks off its eighth season.

Champions Hockey League 21/22

The best of the best - teams from all over Europe - will once again battle it out for the European ice hockey title in the Champions Hockey League (CHL). Starting September 1, 2022, 32 teams from 14 countries will compete against each other, including five teams from Switzerland, four from Germany and two from Austria. For two teams - the Straubing Tigers and the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers – the 2022/2023 season represents their CHL debut.

The group phase lasts until mid-October. Then the best teams of the eight groups advance to the playoffs. Will a Swedish team take home the championship title for the third time in a row? The final at the beginning of 2023 will decide.

LGT is joining in the excitement and is once again supporting the CHL as a sponsoring partner. We look forward to exciting games on the ice.
