Senior Integration Developer London (GB)

Brief Role Objective:

Reporting to the Lead Application Developer, as a Senior Integration Developer you will help guide the overall design, analysis, coding, testing, researching and implementation of the data integration strategy and be the technical best practice champion for our integration platform.  You will help recruit and mentor other members of the team, provide support (including documentation) and work with product owners and scrum masters to ensure that work is delivered as required.

Organisationally, this role is part of our Technology team which includes developers, business analyst, and testers. This gives you excellent networking within the company and constant mutual exchange.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for contributing to the overall design, development, and successful testing of our integration platform
• Help lead the analysis of new stories and be able to provide detailed estimates
• Providing guidance on implementation approaches whilst championing best practices
• Own and advocate the adoption of software engineering best practice specifically regarding integrations, releases, development, and testing
• Assist in the hiring of integration developers and become the centre of excellence providing other members of the team with mentoring, support, and guidance
• Adhere to all Information Security Policies
• Completing other duties as directed
• The nature of the role requires some work outside of normal business hours including weekends, evenings, and public holidays

Key Skills and Competency Requirements:

• Kafka certified (e.g. Confluent Certified Developer)
• Java
• Any exposure to .NET/.NET Core/C# is desirable
• Scripting languages
• Microsoft SQL (writing queries, stored procedures, functions)
• Containerisation (Kubernetes/Openshift/Infrastructure as Code)
• Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent organisational, written, and verbal communication, and time-management skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience:

• 8+ years integration experience, ideally in Financial Services
• Extensive experience with Kafka on premise including troubleshooting, messaging, streaming, configuration of brokers and Kafka Connectors and Java
• Extensive experience writing Microservices/Web Services
• Experience using JIRA
• Experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD and Test Automation
• Experience providing leadership to developers in a mentor/coaching capacity
• Experience with interfacing Salesforce with Kafka
