Your challenge

Our Digital Workplace Communication team is looking for an experienced UC Systems Engineer with a focus on Microsoft Teams. Our team continues to modernize our communication and video conferencing platforms with a focus on UCaas. Our goal is to ensure that everyone at LGT can communicate securely and effectively in real time with anyone in the world. You are a thought leader and have a deep technical understanding of how Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR), Microsoft Voice and Audiocodes is built. As the ideal candidate, you will be able to understand and explain the technical architecture, industry best practices, security/proxy designs, and network signal flows around MS Teams.

This role is very team focused and requires close interaction with our IT colleagues in Endpoint Mgmt, Network, Firewall and Security. You will play a key role in developing and implementing integrations, automations and migrations from third party vendors and serve as an escalation point for complex Microsoft Teams issues. It is very important that you have a positive attitude, can get technical, are persistent in problem solving, a strong team player, and able to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

These exciting tasks await you:

  • Conceptualize, plan, and migrate existing voice solutions to the cloud
  • Assist in managing and setting policies for MS Teams, Microsoft Voice and Audiocodes.
  • Support telephony infrastructure for softphones and desk phones for end users
  • Continue to develop and support MTR and AV systems in conference rooms, auditoriums, studios, and training rooms
  • Level 3 technical support for escalated issues and resolution of tickets within established SLAs
  • Provide technical support for live events using Microsoft Teams Live Events
  • Perform proof-of-concept (POC) and validation of new and advanced UCaaS and AV technologies
  • Collaborate with IT colleagues, Group Security and Compliance to ensure deployed solutions meet security requirements, provide technical support to investigate and analyze security alerts, and maintain system security for AV systems
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and user guides
  • Train IT help desk and end users on the use of Microsoft Teams and MTRs
  • Provide excellent customer service and consultation to internal customers to discuss, plan and ensure their meeting and event requirements are adequately supported
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration with a positive "can-do" attitude.
  • Collaborate with diverse cultures in an international organization

Your profile

You will meet these requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience with Microsoft Teams or Skype for Business.
  • Strong understanding in the area of telecommunications, SBC
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 services (Azure, Exchange, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of security implications and network dependencies for Microsoft Teams, MTRs, and Azure
  • A conceptual understanding of routing/switching/QoS, proxies, firewalls and their potential impact on voice, video and web streaming network environments
  • Experience planning, architecting, and deploying Microsoft Teams and MTRs in a large enterprise environment
  • Experience analyzing, troubleshooting and creating root cause analysis (RCA) reports with action plans to resolve issues
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills as well as good verbal and written communication skills (German and English)
  • Also advantageous would be:
  • Scripting and automation experience in PowerShell.
  • Experience with integrating third-party applications via APIs or connectors
  • Experience with live event support for internal and external events
