Register another device

If you have already registered once with LGT SmartBanking, you will find information here on how to register another device. This may be relevant for you in the following cases:

  • You have a new mobile phone
  • You want to use LGT SmartBanking on two phones (e.g. business and private)
  • You want to install LGT SmartBanking on a family member's device

Step 1

The smartphone screen shows the home page of the LGT Smart Banking app. The screen displays the input fields for entering personal login details.
Please enter your login details in the app.

Step 2

The smartphone screen shows the LGT Smart Banking app with an overview of the four steps to register a second device. The "Continue" button is at the bottom, and the steps are explained on the following slides.
Here you can see the four simple steps required to register your second device.

Step 3

The smartphone screen shows the LGT Smart Banking app. The "Terms and Conditions" page is displayed, and it must be accepted by clicking the "Accept and Continue" button at the bottom of the screen in order to proceed.
Please confirm the terms of use before you can start.

Step 4

The smartphone screen shows the LGT Smart Banking app with the digital identification page, featuring illustrations of a passport and ID card. Below, there are two buttons: "Biometric Passport" and "Biometric ID card" to choose from.
Choose whether you want to register with your biometric passport or ID card.

Step 5

The smartphone screen shows the LGT Smart Banking app with a digital identification page, highlighting three scan tips: 1) Passport in frame, 2) No data covered, 3) Avoid reflections. Buttons below: "Open camera" and "Watch again."
For this example, we assume that you register with your passport. Then open your camera and take a photo of your passport.

Step 6

The smartphone screen shows the LGT Smart Banking app. The four steps in the process are displayed again in a vertical timeline. The first step has now been completed. At the bottom of the screen, there is the button "Continue".
After the photo, the first step is complete and we move on to the second step, scanning the biometric chip with your mobile phone.

Step 7

The smartphone screen shows the LGT Smart Banking app with another step of identification. Three points are listed: 1) Place the phone on the passport, 2) If the process doesn’t start, move the phone over the passport, 3) Wait for the process to finish.
You will now see another short instruction video in the app, after which you will be asked to scan the chip, as shown in the illustration.

Step 8

The smartphone screen shows the LGT Smart Banking app. The four steps in the process are displayed again in a vertical timeline. The first and second step have now been completed. At the bottom of the screen, there is the button "Continue"
This completes two of the four steps and brings us to the next step, a video selfie to verify that you as the passport holder are actually carrying out this process.

Step 9

The smartphone screen shows the LGT Smart Banking app with an identification step. Two points: 1) Avoid bright locations. 2) Scanning starts automatically once your face is in the frame. The buttons 'Continue' and 'Watch again' are at the bottom.
Here too, you will be shown a short instruction video before you take the video selfie. During the video selfie, different colours light up on your screen. This is a security feature to ensure that the person in the video is real and not, for example, someone holding up a photo of you.

Step 10

The smartphone screen shows the LGT Smart Banking app. The four steps in the process are displayed again in a vertical timeline. The first, second and third step have now been completed. At the bottom of the screen, there is the button "Continue".
After the video selfie, you have already completed three out of four steps. Now you just need to enter some final information.

Step 11

The smartphone screen shows the LGT Smart Banking app. The "Additional information" page is open, with an input field for the device name. At the bottom of the screen, there is a blue "Continue" button.
Now give your newly registered device a name with which you can distinguish it from other devices that you may also want to use for LGT SmartBanking.

Step 12

The smartphone screen shows the LGT Smart Banking app. The "Additional information" page is open, and the step where push notifications can be set up is displayed. At the bottom of the screen, the buttons "Not now" and "Allow" are visible.
Activate the push notifications. This is an important step in order to be able to place payment or trading orders in the app, for example.

Step 13

The smartphone screen shows the LGT Smart Banking app. The 'Additional information' page is open, showing the step where the biometric login can be activated. At the bottom of the screen, the buttons "Not now" and "Allow" are visible.
Activate the biometric login from your mobile phone now so that you can log in even more easily in future.

Step 14

The smartphone screen shows the LGT Smart Banking app. The four steps in the process are displayed again in a vertical timeline. All steps have now been completed. At the bottom of the screen, there is the button "Continue to your dashboard".
Congratulations, you have completed all four steps of the registration of your new device!

Step 15

The smartphone screen shows the LGT Smart Banking app. The dashboard is open.
The final step is that your LGT SmartBanking dashboard loads on your new device.
