Client Onboarding KYC Specialist (80%, f/m/d)) Geneva

Business Risk Managers work in an advisory function with market knowledge and first point of contact for Relationship Managers in their role as First Line of Defense (1st LoD) unit in relation to due diligence and tax issues and other issues relating to account openings and Client File Review. Interface function between customer front line (1st line) and compliance (2nd line). Material KYC Check and onboarding review. Support for Relationship Managers during client interactions. Preparation, review, assessment and updating of client profiles. Identification of money laundering, sanctions, reputational, ESR and other business risks, including the definition of measures to minimise risks. Reporting to various Stakeholders (Management, Front etc). Key responsibilities include:

• Conduct onboarding and ongoing due diligence KYC reviews to identify and assess potential risks, including money laundering, reputational risks, ESR and implement strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
• Acting as the first point of contact and sparring partner for questions related to due diligence, AML, and complex client structures for Relationship Managers, ensuring they have the necessary guidance to manage client interactions effectively. Provide expert advice on account openings, KYC checks, and pre-checks, as well ongoing due diligence reviews, conducting plausibility checks of tax status. Additional checks particularly for complex cases might be done in coordination with specialist departments.
• Act as a subject matter expert, guiding and educating less experienced colleagues on best practices in 1st LoD Risk Management, including AML, KYC, and due diligence processes.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in laws and regulations through continuous education and apply this knowledge to improve processes.

• Completed commercial apprenticeship with background in financial services industry; University degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Law, Economics or a related field.
• Experience in Business Risk Management or similar 1st LoD role, Compliance, Audit or a related field within the financial services industry.
• Proven success in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks, along with a history of ensuring regulatory compliance and effective incident management.
• Proficiency in using industry-standard software and tools, strong analytical skills and attention to detail, teamwork and strong communication skills along with the ability to interpret complex data. Understanding of regulatory requirements such as AML, tax, sanctions, etc.
• Fluent in both written and spoken French and English. Knowledge of Arabic or any other language is an advantage.
