Market view and Insights
The renowned Great Place to Work institute has designated LGT Private Banking one of the best employers in Europe. In particular, LGT employees at the locations in Liechtenstein, Austria, Switzerland and the UK appreciate the company’s welcoming culture and its management.
Last year, LGT Private Banking received its first employer certification from "Great Place to Work", an international consulting and research institute. LGT impressed with its unique workplace culture and has now been able to advance to the top 25 in the comparison of companies across Europe: LGT took the outstanding 23rd place in the "Multinational" category in the "Best Workplaces in Europe" list which was published yesterday. It is thus the only bank to be ranked alongside companies from 36 European countries including the global logistics company DHL, which is at the top of the list, as well as other major international companies such as Cisco and Hilti. This successful outcome for LGT is the result of the national awards received by its various locations in Europe. In Liechtenstein and Switzerland, as well as in Austria and the UK, LGT was among the highest-ranked companies on the national lists of "Best Workplaces 2021".
Ninety-four percent of employees are proud to work at LGT
The Great Place to Work institute certification that served as the basis for the rankings included an employee survey conducted during the summer of 2020 and an analysis of workplace culture initiatives. LGT impressed the Great Place to Work institute with the excellent results of its employee survey: the welcoming culture at LGT is considered to be particularly strong at all of its European locations and management is rated very positively by employees, especially in terms of its integrity. Employees also feel they are treated very fairly, regardless of their background. Ninety-four percent of the respondents are proud to work at LGT and 92 percent agree that LGT is a "Great Place to Work". The institute’s assessment of the measures that LGT implements to ensure an optimal workplace culture was also very positive, and found that LGT informs its employees transparently, integrates new employees very quickly and offers a creative work environment. LGT received the "Great Place to Work" certification and has now been designated a "Best Workplace in Europe" based on a comparison of companies thanks to these very good survey results and excellent initiatives to support workplace culture.
Strong values that go beyond national borders
"Last year’s certification confirmed that we have a strong workplace culture and are a ‘Great Place to Work’. The fact that this places us among the best employers in a number of countries, as well as in Europe, is especially pleasing. The designation shows that our employees embody the strong values that LGT upholds, such as communication and cooperation, respect, continuity and entrepreneurial thinking, no matter which location they work at. I am proud of our exceptionally strong workplace culture and conditions, and that these extend and are appreciated beyond national borders, thus enabling our work environment to keep pace with those of the best employers in Europe," says Olivier de Perregaux, CEO LGT Private Banking.
The international consulting and research institute "Great Place to Work" has been assessing the workplace culture of companies since 1992 and surveys more than one million employees from around 1500 companies in Europe every year. This year, a total of 150 companies will receive "Best Workplace in Europe" certification. According to "Great Place to Work", the most important criterion for a good workplace culture is above all trust. Further information can be found at: www.gptw.com
