Milestones in the history of LGT Asia Pacific

1986

LGT opened a representative office in Hong Kong as part of its expansion strategy into Asia. 

1999

LGT launched Private Banking Asia, further strengthening its commitment to Asia. LGT in Asia is dedicated to managing and growing the wealth of a core Asian client base. 

2011

LGT obtained a full banking license from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, enabling the bank to develop this strategically important market more efficiently. 

2016

LGT acquired ABN AMRO’s private banking business in Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai, marking a major step in the Group’s growth strategy and further enhanced its strong footprint in Asia and the Middle East.

2019

LGT opened its Bangkok office to provide investment and wealth management services to high-net- worth individuals and corporates across the nation. 

2021

LGT opened a wealth management office in Japan to service high networth investors after obtaining a trust and investment advisory license.

2021

LGT entered into a conditional agreement to acquire 100% of Crestone Wealth Management, Australia’s leading high-networth wealth management firm. Upon completion of the transaction, Crestone became part of LGT’s private banking entity.
