The Global Private Banking Awards are organised by Professional Wealth Management (PWM) and The Banker, two Financial Times publications, and are among the most respected accolades in the wealth management industry. They recognise private banks that have demonstrated outstanding strategy, client service and innovation over the past year. With awards in two cate-gories and two regions, LGT’s international positioning and its long-term, client-centric approach were once again recognised by the jury.

Tailored support for the most complex client needs

In the Europe region, LGT was named the best private bank for ultra high net worth individuals (UHNWIs). Clients in this seg-ment – often entrepreneurs and families with complex, multi-jurisdictional wealth structures – benefit from dedicated UHNWI teams, direct access to the bank’s investment expertise, including in private markets, and the perspective of an owner that thinks in generations rather than quarters.

Riccardo Petrachi, Head UHNWI Europe at LGT Private Banking, says: “UHNWI families expect far more from their bank than investment management. They are looking for a partner who understands their business, their family and their long-term am-bitions – and who can bring the full expertise of an international group to the table. As a bank owned by an entrepreneurial family, we share this perspective. We are very proud that the jury has recognised our approach, and we see it as an incentive to continue supporting our clients with the same dedication.”

Preparing the next generation in Asia

LGT also won the award for Best Private Bank for the Next Generation in the Asia region. LGT supports its clients’ children and grandchildren from an early stage with education programmes, networking opportunities and advisory services that prepare them for their future role as responsible wealth owners and help families manage succession with foresight. The jury says: “LGT has proved a remarkable case study in how to move with the times and work with the next generation to create a future-proof private wealth solution. As an early identifier of trends towards sustainability, alternative investing and the rise of Asian economies, the firm has stayed ahead of many market competitors.”

Lim Ping Ping, Vice Chairwoman, Global Family Wealth for Asia-Pacific at LGT Private Banking, says: “As wealth passes between generations, families need more than a succession plan. They need to bring the next generation into the conversation, build a sense of belonging and establish clear ways to make decisions together. That is how younger family members can develop their own understanding of the purpose of the wealth they will steward. Being named the best private bank for the next gen-eration in our region recognises our team’s work in helping families put this into practice – making space for younger voices, strengthening connections across generations and giving them practical tools to shape decisions as a family.”
