Your challenge

The Securities Operations Officer is responsible for providing end-to-end securities operations support to clients of the LGT Singapore and LGT Hong Kong booking centres.
The role requires close collaboration with colleagues at LGT Financial Services (outsourced service provider) and local Asian custodians to ensure the timely, accurate and controlled resolution of front office queries.

1. Securities Operations & Trade Processing

  • Perform trade amendments and cancellations in line with internal controls and market deadlines

  • Input trades for Delivery-versus-Payment (DVP) settlements

  • Process Free-of-Payment (FOP) transfers

  • Conduct independent callbacks with end-clients for verification purposes

  • Instruct FX transactions for restricted currencies

  • Handle physical securities certificates, including conversion and safekeeping

  • Process the settlement of proprietary trades for LGT Hong Kong and LGT Singapore

  • Open segregated accounts with various custodians

  • Process third-party private equity fund transfers-in, distributions, capital calls and quarterly statement updates

2. Query Management & Issue Resolution

  • Act as a point of contact for securities-related queries, including:

    • Corporate action enquiries

    • Troubleshooting of trade booking issues

    • Pricing enquiries

    • Error trade rectification

    • Securities reconciliation queries

    • Status updates on securities transfers

3. Reconciliations & Controls

  • Perform quarterly reconciliation of insurance policies held in LGT Singapore’s vault

  • Conduct daily monitoring and reconciliation of auxiliary accounts for LGT Singapore

4. Fees and Other Processing

  • Manage new External Asset Manager (EAM) set-up administration

  • Handle special pricing (SOKO) set-up administration and related enquiries

  • Perform trailer fee calculations and payments

  • Generate stamp tax reports

  • Prepare and process other rebate tabulations and payments

  • Perform quarterly retrocession verification and payments

  • Execute ad-hoc manual retrocession calculations and payments as required

  • Perform quarterly finder’s fee calculations and payments

  • Verify quarterly custody fee calculations and bookings

  • Prepare revenue and retrocession comparisons and analysis for management reporting

  • Process monthly billings for various custodians

Note: Other related duties may be assigned by the Head of Securities Operations as required.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, or related discipline.

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in securities operations, preferably with strong exposure to Free-of-Payment (FOP) transfers.

  • Good knowledge of private banking products and instruments, the trade lifecycle and market infrastructure.

  • Able to communicate clearly and professionally with the front office and other stakeholders.

  • Capable of providing appropriate operational suggestions and advice to help resolve client issues in a timely and controlled manner.

  • High attention to detail and strong risk awareness when performing daily processes (e.g. securities transfers, auxiliary accounts, insurance policies).

  • Able to promptly identify, investigate and escalate control gaps and operational issues.

  • Proficiency with fees and revenue processes, including EAM and SOKO set-up, trailer fees, retrocessions, finder’s fees, custody fees, stamp tax and custodians’ billing.

  • Ensures accurate calculations, bookings and analyses for management reporting.

  • Strong team player with high integrity in handling confidential client and proprietary information.

  • Flexible and adaptable, able to take on ad-hoc tasks, support new processes, and respond to changing operational and booking-centre requirements across Singapore and Hong Kong.

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of assigned tasks.

  • Willing to work during public holidays and weekends when required to support business and operational needs.
