The puck is flying again! Tomorrow sees the start of the ninth season of the Champions Hockey League (CHL). The new format adds to the excitement of the tournament and guarantees a thrilling experience from the very first game. LGT is once again involved as a sponsoring partner.
From tomorrow, 31 August 2023, the best teams from all over Europe will once again reach for the European ice hockey throne in the Champions Hockey League (CHL). In the new format, only 24 teams are competing and there will be no group phase. Each team will play six different opponents instead of three. The top 16 teams will progress to the play-offs in October 2023. This will give fans the chance to see the best teams facing off early on in the competition. And every single match counts. From the first to the last second, excitement is guaranteed.
This season, there are three teams from Switzerland, three from Germany and two from Austria taking part in the tournament. HC Innsbruck is making its CHL debut. Can the newcomers hold their own against the favourites from Sweden and Finland?
