Your challenge

We are looking for an Oracle Database Engineer (f/m/d) with the following responsibilities:

  • Operation, maintenance, installation, and design of Oracle databases

  • Management and enhancement of Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) databases

  • Ensuring high availability, replication with Oracle Data Guard, and disaster recovery solutions

  • Performance tuning and resource optimization for different database applications

  • Analysis and troubleshooting of issues in the database environment

  • Automation of database administration and maintenance activities, using scripting skills (SQL, PL/SQL, Shell, Perl)

  • Technical support for the core banking application and its underlying databases

  • Creation and maintenance of documentation for infrastructures and databases

  • Ability to develop and implement concepts, standards, and best practices for Oracle databases

  • Participation in various projects in the database environment in collaboration with other IT teams

  • Identification and evaluation of new technologies that enhance the scalability and robustness of our ecosystem

  • Understanding and adherence to the company’s risk and regulatory standards

  • Escalation of risk-related issues to management when required

  • Participation in an on-call operation to ensure 24/7 database availability

Your profile

  • Completed technical studies (e.g. computer science, information technology) or equivalent professional experience

  • Experience in the administration of Oracle databases and strong interest in deepening this expertise

  • Experience in the administration of UNIX servers

  • Practical experience with Oracle RAC and Oracle Data Guard database administration

  • Hands-on experience running databases on Exadata clusters

  • Experience in scripting (SQL, PL/SQL, Shell, Perl) is an advantage

  • Good written and spoken English skills

  • Strong interest and drive to advance projects and infrastructures proactively

  • Well-balanced, resilient, and team-oriented personality with an accurate, reliable, and independent working style

  • Enjoyment of working in a dynamic environment with a high level of initiative and drive

  • Quick-thinking, with a strong customer and service orientation

  • Interest in current technical market developments, with the ability to derive appropriate measures and successfully implement them in the system environment
