About us

LGT is the largest Private Banking and Asset Management group in the world to be owned by an entrepreneurial family. As the family office of the Princely House of Liechtenstein, we have years of experience in the management of sizeable sums of assets.

Your challenge

As a Credit Officer at our location in Bendern (LI) or Zurich (CH), you will assume a key role in our lending business: you will analyse, assess and approve sophisticated credit applications in line with our risk framework and applicable regulatory requirements. You will play a significant part in the further development of credit processes and policies. Together with internal stakeholders, you will ensure the highest quality standards and thereby contribute directly to the sound, strategic growth of our credit business.

Your tasks:

  • Reviewing and assessing complex credit applications, in particular mortgages as well as international Lombard and structured loans, taking into account internal guidelines, risk parameters and regulatory requirements

  • Making independent decisions on credit approvals within the defined authority framework and preparing compelling decision papers for senior management – including tailored covenants and individual conditions

  • Actively contributing to and continuously optimising credit policies in a dynamic environment

  • Ensuring that all credit decisions are consistently in line with regulatory requirements and the bank’s risk appetite

  • Promoting the consistent and professional implementation of new or amended guidelines across all relevant units

  • Acting as a professional sparring partner for Credit Advisors and other internal teams on complex credit structures and risk matters, and serving as a central point of contact for credit-related queries

  • Collaborating closely and reliably with internal and external auditors as well as other interfaces in Switzerland and abroad

  • Actively participating in projects to optimise credit processes and expand the credit business – including identifying innovation and efficiency potential and ensuring alignment with the organisation’s strategic objectives

Your profile

For this exciting position, we are looking for a responsible individual with the following profile:

  • University degree in Banking and Finance, Business Administration or a related field; further qualifications in Credit Management or Risk Analysis are a strong plus

  • Several years of relevant professional experience (at least 7 years) in international lending, ideally in a private banking environment, as well as a deep understanding of credit policies, regulatory requirements and risk frameworks in global markets

  • Proven strength in analysing, structuring and risk-conscious assessment of complex credit transactions, and experience in the enhancement of credit processes and strategic credit initiatives

  • Confident use of core banking systems such as Avaloq and other modern credit management tools

  • Strong analytical skills, high numerical affinity and confidence in interpreting financial data

  • Very good user skills in the MS Office suite (especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in German and English, with an ability to tailor communication to different audiences

  • Enjoyment in applying your broad expertise, handling complex cases and new regulatory requirements with confidence, actively sharing knowledge as a subject-matter expert and driving process improvements
